Welcome to Riley & Becky's Blog!
Hard to believe it, but we are 8 days from starting our great adventure - an attempt to bike across the country from Seaside, OR to Bar Harbor, ME. We should pedal away from Seaside on Sunday morning, 5/9/10 and hope to arrive in Bar Harbor sometime in October.
We're a couple of experienced senior bikers - Riley is 70 and Becky is 63 - so we don't plan to race across! We hope to average about 40 miles a day on riding days, with 2 layover days in every 7. We will be carrying camping gear but not planning to camp every night.
We've been dreaming of this for several years, postponed it once, and thought until this week that we were going to have to postpone it yet again - then, way opened and we're going to go!
We've been getting ready just in case but we are certainly in a crazy whirl of activity now that it is actually happening.
Watch this space!

Dear Becky and Riley,
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine that you won't have some great stories to tell! I'm amazed, anxious and definitely more than a little bit envious of your "great adventure". It reminds me of the Babar and Celeste in the hot air balloon basket on your wedding cake.
Be safe and have a terrific time!
Much love,
Sarah
